No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn whatever he could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the adverse feedback from others annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.

He began playing seriously after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated a number of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an immeasurable love for poker. Phil states that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Although Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
