Net High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only one to achieve final poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a large pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best players anywhere in the world. While wagering on net poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I know Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has little or no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the skill out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amt.. I believe tv can skew our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have never heard of before. Gus can be seen wagering on web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in big stakes omaha hi-low and texas holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?
