Net High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Posted in Poker on 11/05/2024 10:25 am by ValerieGus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to make it to the last poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest players around the world. While betting on net poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. Gus often competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I know Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has no reason to play at the game with the min buy-in.
Buying in for the min takes a majority of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be one of the best poker players in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amount. I think television can skew our view of the real world at times. The greatest poker players in the world might just be guys you have never heard of. Gus can be found gambling on web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in high stakes Omaha and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?
